The banduria or bandurria is a steel-stringed, twelve-stringed instrument, part lute and part guitar, in six double courses A version used in the Philippines has fourteen strings, while the baroque version had ten gut strings. Nylon string versions also still exist.

The Cuban laud has a scale length of about 400mm, and some widely differing reported tunings:

- D D - F# F# - B B - e e - a a - d' d'
(Octaves of these last three tunings are speculative)
The seven-course thirteen-string laudón and a four-string uncoursed bass lute are other members of the banduria family, and are played with them in ensenbles.
